Phaedra Bier

I was born at North Kansas City Hospital, and grew up in Kansas City.  I went to Meadowbrook elementary school, Antioch middle school, and Winnetonka High School.  I graduated in 2002, and then went to UMKC to study Art Education.  My first art job was here at Gracemor!  I’ve been here for 7 years.  I have a wonderful husband named Chris, and two handsome little boys, Caedmon and Aaron.  I love being an art teacher, and look forward to teaching for many years to come.

Amanda Koester

     I was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, and am currently living in KC. I am a North Kansas City High School Alumni, and have been teaching art in the North Kansas City School District for 4 years. I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in painting from Central Missouri State University in the spring of 2003, and my teaching certificate in art education from Park University in 2008.
     My loving husband Drew keeps my life exciting. We have a dog named Loki, who is always willing to snuggle up next to both of us!! Creating and teaching art are both a huge part of my life and will always be in my heart. Watching children create and grow as artists is such a joy, that I will be continuing this experience for as long as I can. I would have to say my job is the best job in the world!!! I try to inspire and encourage the use of the imagination, so each child can open their minds to many possibilities.
